Thanks to everyone for making this year’s 9th annual Manu o Kū Festival a success. We had a great day on the coronation grounds of ‘Iolani Palace where 17 participant organizations set up booths to interact with the over 300 guests. Kids enjoyed making crafts and playing games, while learning about the Manu o Kū as well as other plant and animal species. “Bruddah Bryan” led us through our program, starting with an opening ‘oli from the students of Ka Papa Lo‘i ‘o Kānewai, and 8 educational talks throughout the day. We also enjoyed musical entertainment from the dynamic ukulele duo of Corey Fujimoto and Kalei Gamiao. Guests were able to paint pictures of our guests of honor, the Manu o Kū, under the instruction of renowned local nature artist, Patrick Ching. There were a lot of budding artists in attendance. Guests also were able to check in on the Manu o Kū chicks that were in the trees above our heads using spotting scopes and bird walks around the grounds. We look forward to having you join us for next year’s 10th annual Manu o Kū Festival!
