
MAHALO FOR JOINING US!
Thank you to all for joining us for our 11th annual Manu o Kū Festival, on the beautiful ‘Iolani Palace coronation grounds. A common nesting location for the guests of honor, they were on proud display in the trees over our heads and putting on quite a show. We had another amazing event this year, featuring the following:
- Over 20 Community partners, organizations, and agencies on site to share their work through family friendly crafts, games, and activities
- Entertainment
- Hula performance by James Dela Cruz and Nā ‘Ōpio a me Nā Kupuna O Ko’olau
- Musical performance by ukulele duo Corey Fujimoto and Mika Kane
- Keiki nature themed costume contest
- 2 appearances of our “flock” of costume characters
- Instructional art workshops with local artist, Kelly Furuya
- Educational speaker series
- Bird Walks and Spotting Scopes
- Manu o Kū inspired art display tent
- NEW THIS YEAR: Presentation of our new annual festival awards
- The Swindle VanderWerf Mālama Manu o Kū Award
- The Kahu Manu Lā’au Award
